Outside of Goldfield, Colorado lies the Vindicator Valley Trailhead. The trail system winds its way around historical mines and mining equipment from the Colorado silver rush. This particular photo was taken early in the morning as the sun had just risen over Pikes Peak. The low angle sun cast some very long shadows that lead up the walking path to the old mining head frame. Good timing and great light, doesn't get any better than that!
