Artist's Description
Sam Rayburn Reservoir - Texas
Sam Rayburn is one of several large manmade reservoirs in East Texas. Built to provide flood protection downstream, they also provide power, drinking water and recreation for millions of people annually. This photo was taken from a boat ramp looking away from the setting sun. The sky had turned a beautiful shade of pink and purple, and the tree on the small island was perfectly silhouetted against the sky. It was a great way to end the day.
