Sandia Mountains - New Mexico
A small window of cloudless sky on the western horizon led to this image of the Sandia foothills outside of Albuquerque. The afternoon monsoon storms were clearing up and just at sunset the mountains and clouds were illuminated in some of the best light I have seen. This particular shot reminds me of a smoking volcano, if the smoke was pink. The light lasted all of five to ten minutes so it was a shoot while you can kind of evening.
